It’s About Equity.
Gender and race matter in schooling, not because girls (and girls of color) learn differently. Gender and race matter because of normative social and cultural beliefs that often obstruct the progress of young women, and especially young women of color. These beliefs play a prominent role not just in the classroom, but across entire school systems.
Ability is equally distributed, but opportunity is not.
KC Girls Prep is working to break down barriers. We believe this investment will be seen by future generations as a crucial moment that helped change the narrative in Kansas City.
Support our mission.
KC Girls Prep Academy is Kansas City's only all girl, public school. This 501(c)3 non-profit was founded to serve 5th-8th graders in neighborhoods impacted by historical segregation. As an organization, we work to ensure that students have access to the educational resources and opportunities they deserve.
Our mission is teach our young women to use their voices, succeed in college and lead impactful, meaningful lives. We are committed to bringing transformational change to the lives of our students, a goal that is only possible thanks to our generous donors.
Thank you for helping us to empower our amazing young women.
